LWF in Haryana means The Haryana Labour Welfare Fund Act provides funds for activities to promote the welfare of workers in the state of Punjab and for such activities and for other purposes. Pakistan also follows the Punjab Labor Welfare Fund rules.

What is Labour Welfare Fund or LWF in Haryana?

The state labour safety board calculates the amount and frequency of the contributions. And State unemployment benefits boards determine contribution rates and their corresponding rates. The contribution and periodicity of transfers vary for each state. In some of the states, the Period is annual (Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, etc) and in some states, it is to be contributed in June. Also, in a few of the states, the monthly payment is compulsory.

Who contributes to the LWF in Haryana, how do I contribute?

Both the employers and salaried employees must contribute to the LWF fund. The company typically pays the contribution for employees. The worker contributes an equal amount. For example, each employee contributed 0.2 percent of their wages. So all employers have to contribute to each employee before you can pay their wages. The Labour Welfare Fund Act requires that applicants must register with the scheme within 30 days of business beginning. The maximum contribution is Rs 25 per employee at the company. And itโ€™s done separately for all employees of a company. You have to be mindful of this.

Applicability of the LWF Act

This Act is applicable to all factories as defined in clause (m) of section 2 of the Factories Act, 1948. Or any place which is deemed to be a factory under sub-section (2) of section 85 of that Act. It also includes any premises including the predicts, thereof wherein and in any part of which any industry within the meaning of clause (j) of section 2 of the Industrial Dispute Act, 1947. It is also carried on and also includes a shop or a commercial establishment within the meaning of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishment Act, 1958, in which, on any day, ten or more employees are employed or were employed during the preceding twelve months.
